Seasons of Trust

Every small business owner knows the ebb and flow of work. There are months when opportunities seem endless, and months when the phone barely rings. It can feel discouraging when the numbers don’t line up the way we hoped — but God reminds us that every season has a purpose.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” – Ecclesiastes 3:1

The Rhythm of Seasons

God designed the world to move in seasons — planting, growth, harvest, and rest. Business follows the same rhythm. There are times of sowing seeds (marketing, networking, laying groundwork), times of growth (new clients and opportunities), times of harvest (reaping the rewards of hard work), and times of rest or waiting. Each season serves a purpose, even when it doesn’t feel fruitful.

Trusting God in the Waiting

Waiting is often the hardest season. When revenue slows or doors seem closed, it’s easy to wonder if God has forgotten us. But seasons of waiting are often seasons of preparation. What looks like a delay may actually be God’s protection or His way of strengthening us for the harvest ahead.

Stewardship in Every Season

No matter the season, our call is the same: be faithful.

  • In Planting – Work diligently, even when results aren’t immediate.

  • In Growth – Stay rooted in humility, remembering Who brings the increase.

  • In Harvest – Be generous and thankful, giving God the glory.

  • In Rest – Allow space to recharge, knowing rest is part of God’s design.

Final Encouragement

If you’re in a difficult season right now, take heart: seasons always change. The God who provided yesterday will provide tomorrow. Trust His timing, be faithful with what’s in front of you, and remember — every season, whether planting or harvesting, is held in His hands.
